WHAT DOES EVERYDAY LIFE MEAN TO YOU?

Everyday life means family (my husband Sølve, my daughter Sara and me), home and familiar routines. Everyday life means work/study and commitments, laundry and cooking, yelling and laughing, loving and caring. Everyday life means finding beauty and joy in the ordinary and mundane.

CAN YOU SHARE A DAILY RITUAL WITH US?

When Sara (nearly two years old) wakes up in the morning, we immediately (as long as there is no diaper emergency) cozy up under a blanket in the big chair in her room with a book or two. We both enjoy this slow way of waking up, even it it is just for five minutes.

HOW DO YOU BREAK THE PATTERN OF DAILY LIFE, EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE?

I spent time outdoors instead of in front of the computer; go for a walk or a run, or do a bit of gardening. Or I do errands in the middle of the day, with a mandatory coffee break at one of my favorite cafés in the city centre. Also, to leave our home and spend a weekend elsewhere is a great way to break the pattern of daily life.
